20 Things You Didn’t Know About Adam Levine Of Maroon 5

Think you know everything there is to know about the Maroon 5 front-man?  Well, guess again, because we dug up some really good stuff on Adam Levine.  From his good looks to his smooth voice, to his instant popularity on The Voice, Adam Levine is one of the hottest musicians on the scene right now.

Adam was born Adam Noah Levine on March 18, 1979 in Los Angeles, CA. He has a brother named Michael and a step-sister named Julia. He also has a half-brother Sam and a half-sister Liza.

Adam was diagnosed with ADHD as a teenager and is now a spokesperson for ADHD, trying to help young adults manage their symptoms.

Adam Levine and actor Jake Gyllenhaal are great friends and have been buds since Kindergarten.

When Adam was 6 years old, he made the game-winning shot at his championship YMCA basketball game with no time remaining on the clock.  He says that incident changed his life and gave him the confidence he needed to become successful.

Prior to Maroon 5, Adam sang in a band called Kara’s Flowers, which he formed while attending The Brentwood School in LA.  His band actually appeared on an episode of Beverly Hills 90210!

While attending Five Towns College in Long Island, Adam had a brief stint as a waiter at Johnny Rockets.

While he was a writer’s assistant on the TV show Judging Amy, Adam would write lyrics about his ex-girlfriend, Jane Herman.  This later became the name of Maroon 5′s first album, Songs About Jane.

Adam says one of his favorite foods is a big, fat, ribeye steak.  He said the fatty gristle is his favorite part of the steak!

Adam says his favorite song to perform is Secret from their first album.  He said another one of his favs is The Sun.

Adam has a love of cars and his favorite is the 1971 Mercedes 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet.

Who is Adam dating?  At last check, his main squeeze was Victoria’s Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna, who cuddled up with him in the video for Never Gonna Leave This Bed.

Adam is ambidextrous. He writes with his left hand, but prefers his right hand for most of other activities, including playing guitar.

Adam has a Golden Retriever named Frankie.

After breaking his collarbone lifting weights in 2005, Adam began yoga and fell in love with it!

Adam has some serious ink, including the words “Los Angeles” on his right shoulder, a dragon, the number 222 (where Maroon 5′s first studio was), and the word “Mom” with a heart around it on his right arm.

What was the first concert Adam ever attended?  It was Warrant.  Kind of sad considering that we just lost Jani Lane.

Adam was stopped by police on two separate occasions in LA, once back in 2008 and once in 2010.  They were both for the same incident, for driving his Aston Martin without plates.  You can actually watch the video of him being pulled over from TMZ here.

What’s Adam’s drink of choice?  Tequila.

Adam Levine was one of 80 musicians who recorded the remake of We Are the World as a charity single for We Are the World 25 for Haiti.
